Laura C. - Hebrews 11:1 - Jan. 8th

Faith, according to the Bible, is not blind. More than half of the verses in the book of Hebrews are dedicated to explaining reasons and evidence to accept the new covenant in Jesus Christ. Nor is faith gullible, or senseless. Instead, godly faith is exemplified by trust. That trust is based on what we know of God, relying on Him for the things we do not know. In particular, godly faith looks forward, from an eternal perspective, and produces obedience, even in the face of hardship. God takes what we cannot see, or cannot understand, and uses it to make good on His word. Since faith relies on what we've seen of God and trusts Him for the future, it becomes the "assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen"

Dear Jesus

Today, I ask to lift up Laura to you in prayer. As I was praying I saw your hand reach into her body and hold her heart, you were examining it in such a way, that she would know the why when she comes to you in prayer. Thank you Father for always blessing us in ways we may not understand. But to know by faith that what we hope for is certain of what we do not see. This is what the ancients were commended for. By faith, we understand that the universe was formed at God's command so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible.  wow! Thank you, Jesus, be with Laura today and always, walk with her and direct her steps, amen

Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
